CHOCOLATE WITH A CONSCIENCE . . .

Valentine's Day is a great excuse to share my passion for chocolate. There's a definite advantage to looking at pictures and blogging about this wonder food - it ends up on the page rather than my hips. However, it can be difficult to share my rapture without actually tasting the treats. That said, I must share my latest find. These artisan chocolates from Lillie Belle Farms are more than beautiful - they're certified organic and made with ingredients from fair trade sources. AROMATHERAPY GOES TO THE DOGS! Though I don't consider myself an over-the-top doggie owner - no nail polish, faux fur clothing or crystal jewelry in Frankie's (my canine) wardrobe - I recently found a product that makes our lives together much more enjoyable. Aromatherapy for dogs may sound a little 'Californian' but that's where we live. WHAT YOU SEE IS WHAT YOU GET Nothing is exactly what you get when you purchase this non-product from British company I Want One Of Those (IWOOT). The item description on their site calls it " . . . a lovingly crafted vial of emptiness . . . " It's great for the person who has everything, doesn't want anything or just plain doesn't deserve a thing. The product struck a chord - it sold out in mid-December and IWOOT won't have new inventory until early January. Those of us with concerns about the environment may cringe - the non-product sells for $6.28 in American dollars and ships for approximately the same amount. Imagine the good those dollars could do if donated to a responsible green charity . . .
